EDDIE ARCILLA

「  Filmmaker | Photographer | Designer | Traveler  」

Hello, I'm an artist from California. Aside from my creative work, I love to travel, I onewheel, eBike miles on end, go on hikes with my dog, try new food, learn new things, experience other culture. My favorite genre of music is Hardstyle but I listen to a plethora of genres…no really, I do, not just for inspiration but I have an eccentric taste in music. I like watching travel docs, true crime, and documentaries in general.

Filmmaking
When it comes to filmmaking, this is what I love to do. I make short films, short documentaries, travel videos, music videos, promo videos, commercials, and artsy videos. I also post on my YouTube channel of product reviews, vlogs, and whatnot. For my professional work in film I Produce, Direct, and DP. For inquires, feel free to hit me up and let’s make something different! I love to telling peoples story through the lens.

Design & Illustration
I went to school for Graphic Design. I am currently a Senior Designer at an agency. Because this is currently my day job, I rarely take any design work outside of this as I focus more on filmmaking when I am not designing.

Photography
These days I mainly do photography as a hobby but I do take photography work from time to time. I like shooting Street Photography, Travel, Portraits, and Urban Scapes. For professional work in photography, I do event coverage, portraits, and weddings.

Traveler
I love traveling. I love that nomad life and living in the moment where each day holds new adventures and not knowing where you’ll end up at the end of the day. I love going to new places I’ve never been; exploring cities, jungles, deserts, beaches, mountains, and everything else in between with my camera. I love chatting with locals, making new friends; eating new food, seeing the local wild life. One of my goals in life is to visit every country and territory. Not only does it balance my life but it resets my mentality and rejuvenates my creativity. Traveling and nomading around the world, I’ve gained invaluable experiencing that has shaped my personal life as well as my creative life. Seeing the world has influenced my creativity which I believe puts me at an advantage.

BRANDS AND PEOPLE I’VE WORKED WITH

HOUSE OF INTENT

「  The Art of Visual  」

The name "House of Intent" comes from the design phrase “design with a purpose" and to not merely create decorative artwork or add things for the sake of making it look good but to have intent, message in your piece. Form follows function. The word “House” represents myself and the culmination and scope of my work.

The Logo

Inside the inner circle of the logo is a stylized Japanese Kanji「 見 」that stands for sight, vision, to see. This goes hand in hand with photos and video since it’s mostly visual.

The circle represents the lens and opening of a camera. The 3 points connected to the circle represents the Exposure Triangle in photography and filmmaking which are Aperture, Shutter Speed (Shutter Angle), and ISO.

The circle is surrounded by petals creating a laurel which stands for victory and honor (Greek origin). These petals represent the aperture blades inside a lens. An effect of an aperture is making an image blurry while the subject is in focus. The blurry parts of an image is called Bokeh (ボケ) (Japanese origin).

Taking the meaning of the Kanji 見 and the meaning of the laurel, put them together and the logo stands for “Victory in Sight”. A play-on word of what you are capturing through a camera or what you are trying to capture through the your own personal lens and goals.

KYOTO THE SHIBA INU

Say hello to my co-pilot and best friend, Kyoto the Shiba Inu! She’s named after my favorite place in the world, Kyoto, Japan. The meaning of Kyoto is Peace and Calm and is also known as the City of Zen. She’s very playful and energetic but she is hella chill for the most part which fits her name. Not only does she have the looks but she is very smart and sassy. I couldn’t have gotten a better doge!
